Whatever is in my kitchen energizing green smoothie

Energize your day with banana, blueberry, mango, kale, spinach, parsley, flaxseeds and chia seeds.

Does this scenario sound familiar?
It’s  morning. You’re hungry. You’re not fully awake.
But you are in desperate need of nourishment.
You haven’t shopped in a few days. You wonder: what do you have in the house to eat?
Will you be able to satisfy your energy needs this morning?
Or will you just have to grab a green soy latte on the way to the office?

A furious hunt through your refrigerator and around the kitchen uncovers the best, organic ingredients available for today’s smoothie.
That’s what I had to do yesterday.  And thank goodness, I was in luck!
See what goodies I dug up to make a delicious, energy-boosting green smoothie including flaxseeds and chia seeds — both nutrient-rich additions to your smoothies.
Flaxseeds are high in omega-3 fatty acids (which are key to fighting inflammation), plus they provide  B-vitamins, magnesium, manganese, phytochemicals (including one of the best sources of tumor-fighting lignans) as well as soluble and insoluble fiber.
Chia seeds are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, fiber, calcium, magnesium and iron.
