Things You Need:

  • ½ teaspoon Arrowroot powder or Cornstarch.
  • ½ teaspoon Hibiscus powder or Beetroot powder.
  • Any essential oil of your choice.
  • A clean container.

Steps:

  • Find a mixing container in order to combine the ingredients together. You can either use a small bowl or even a cup to mix the ingredients.
  • Pour the beetroot or hibiscus powder into the container. If your beetroot powder comes in a capsule then simply break open the capsule and pour in the powder. Do this until you get the desired amount. Pour the powder through a sifter to break any clumps.
  • Then add the arrowroot or cornstarch powder. Pour it again through a sifter in order to avoid any clumps. Mix everything well.
  • Adjust the colour of your blush by adding more of whatever you need. If your colour is too dark then add a little bit more arrowroot or cornstarch powder. If your pigment is too light then try adding more of hibiscus or beetroot powder.
  • Add in the essential oil which will allow the powder to stick better to your face and will also provide a nice fragrance.
  • Pour the mixture into a container and your own loose powder blush is ready.

Note:

you can also use grounded strawberry or raspberry to get the red pigment. If you are a fan of shimmer then you can add ground ginger or ground nutmeg which will provide light and heavy shimmer respectively.

Pink Pressed Powder Blush

Pink is a pretty and universal shade and this blush is going to suit every skin tone.

Things you need:

  • 3 tablespoons of water.
  • Baby powder.
  • 1-6 drops of organic food colouring.
  • A clean container.

Steps:

  • Find a mixing container in order to combine the ingredients together. Make sure the container is clean so that you don’t risk contaminating your makeup.
  • Mix water and natural or organic food colouring in the bowl. The amount of food colouring will determine the tint of the blush. If you want light pink blush then use 1-2 drops of food colouring, if you want medium pink then use 3-4 drops and if you really want a dark pink colour then use5-6 drops o the colour.
  • Add 1-2 teaspoons of baby powder to get really thick and even paste. The consistency should neither be too thick or too runny.
  • Transfer the blush into a container and smooth it out to avoid any lumps. Press the blush when it is damp in order to set it.
  • Allow the blush to dry and leave it for 24 hours in a warm and sunny place. Use it once it is ready.

Note:

If  you don’t have baby powder then you cn either use arrowroot or constrarch powder. Also the drying time will depend on the amount of blush you made.

Brown cream blush

This blush is going to work in two ways – blush and bronzer. You can use it however you want to give your face a sunkissed look along with a chiseled cheekbones.

Things You Need:

  • 1 teaspoon Shea Butter.
  • ½ teaspoon emulsifying wax.
  • 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera gel.
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder.
  • 1 teaspoon brown mica powder.

Steps:

  • You need two containers in order to do a double boiler process. Fill the bottom pot with water and on the upper pot add the shea butter and emulsifying wax.
  • Heat the vessel until the ingredients melt and keep stirring it in order to melt the ingredients evenly.
  • Once everything is melted it should look like a translucent paste. Allow it to cool and then add the Aloe Vera Gel and mix it well to avoid any lumps.
  • Add the cocoa powder and the mica powder and adjust the tint as per your liking. Add more cocoa powder if you want a dark brown shade and less if you want a light brown shade.
  • Once everything is mixed transfer it into a clean container and leave it in a cool place for 24 hours.
  • Once it solidifies your cream blush is ready to use.
