My friends and family often make comments about how large my salads are.
I just smile and say “Salads are good for you” and keep on chewing!
Flavorful, crunchy, multi-textured salads are probably my favorite food.
I eat them every day.
I love to make all kinds of healthy, nutritious salads, and I often make very big ones.
But, despite the fact that I eat a lot of fresh vegetables, fruits and salads, I am not necessarily
I have been thin and I have gained weight many times in my life.
Weight loss has been a mystery to me–as it is for many of us.
I needed to learn a lot more about how to eat well and optimize weight loss.
So when best selling author, health educator, and developer of the Body Type System
of Weight Loss, Dr. Eric Berg offered to share his insightful video, “How Much Salad
Should I Eat To Lose Weight?” with us, I was delighted to view it.
Dr. Berg, DC, is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and
His private practice is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
He has spent over 25 years working with 35,000 people.
I was interested in learning more about his weight loss philosophy because his motto is:
“You don’t need
to lose weight.
First you need
to be healthy.”
Dr. Berg is the author of “The 7 Principles of Fat Burning“, published by KB Publishing
in January 2011.
In addition, Eric Berg is widely published in trade magazines, including Chiropractic Today and
The American Chiropractor, and in consumer publications such as First for Women, Men’s Exercise,
New Beauty, Upscale and Let’s Live.
Dr. Berg trains chiropractors, physicians and allied healthcare practitioners in his methods, and
to date he has trained over 2,000 healthcare professionals.
In his enlightening video, Dr. Eric Berg talks about the importance of making salads with
high density, nutritent-rich vegetables.
He emphasizes the value of including the right kinds of salads in our diets as well as how
much potassium is needed by our bodies on a daily basis.
He notes that salads with fats can allow the fat-soluble vitamins to be extracted and that
most people do not even come close to the quantity needed.
In fact, he feels that a person needs 7-10 cups or ounces per day.
Salads aid weight loss by providing potassium to turn off sugar cravings.
They also are required to get healthy to be able to lose weight.
Potassium is also necessary for processing proteins.
But there is so much more to this topic than meets the eye.
I’ve always believed that “knowlege is power” so check out Dr. Berg’s video to see for yourself.
