Upcycled Street Art You Want to Reach Out and Touch

I’ve got my eyes on you!

It doesn’t take much for me to feel good about living in New York City. A sunny day will make me break out in a grin. But surprise me with warmer weather and I am ecstatic!
Take today for example: despite the fact that it is early May, the weather report promises unusually warm weather, so I laced up my sneakers, grabbed my iIphone and headed downtown to see what catches my eye! After experiencing the Ghanaian artist El Anatsui’s monumental exhibit of upcycled wall hangings crafted from thousands of discarded beer bottle caps, I see thought-provoking street art, spontaneous creative expression and the “potential for art” everywhere I look. I try to capture those ‘moments’ as often as possible.

Upcycled Street Art Gallery: Downtown Ceramic Mosaics

Upcycled mosaics crafted from shards of broken plates and mirrors popped up on walls and storefronts in the East Village. In addition to the  ‘eyecatching’ mosaic above, which adorned the front of an optician’s shop–here are my other picks:
