Ah, spring. The time in which many of us embark on a cleanse of some kind. Whether we spring clean our houses, careers, personal life or our wardrobe, Brits — and others around the world — love this time of year for a good ol’ tidy of some kind. With the current climate and many of us now at home for the foreseeable future, now is the perfect time to tackle those jobs we’ve been putting off for weeks on end!
Focus on small goals
With everything that’s happening, the thought of taking on large goals can be daunting for many, so why not plan out a few smaller ones to get you started. Maybe one could be to clear out your wardrobe and get bits ready to take to charity when the shops open again. You could then tackle another room and write a list of all the little jobs that need doing such as painting or cleaning.
You could even learn a new skill! Online businesses like Udemy and Future Learn offer a wide range of courses. Before you choose one, make sure to consider your finances, but if you have any downtime or a spare few hours over the weekend, now is a great time to learn.
Take up a virtual class
If you’re working from home and have a bit more time around the house on your hands, now is the perfect opportunity to take up a new class. With many gyms and other fitness clubs closed, many have transformed their offerings and can now be found online! Contact your nearest yoga or pilates classes and see if you can join a virtual session.
Not only is it easy to keep on top of your health and fitness, it’s also great for your mental health. Release all that anxiety and some endorphins at the same time!
Use this time to plan
There are restrictions, of course, as to what you can and can’t do right now. But, instead of thinking of the negative, use this time to create a plan so that, when restrictions lift, you can get on with achieving those goals.
Whether you start a new skill course now and do as much work as possible online, join a yoga class virtually and brush up on your technique before you head to the studio, or declutter your home so it’s ready for when you can start having family and friends around again, this spring is the best time to give your life a little bit of a revamp.
